The Government of Belize initially postponed Phase 3 and the reopening of the Belize International Airport that had been scheduled for August 15 because of a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country. However, the weekly repatriation flights continued including a mandatory 14-day quarantine period for returning Belizeans and Belize residents.

Safety Protocols & Entry Requirements for Phase 3

Safety protocols and entry requirements will be in place from the time of arrival in Belize to the time of departure to limit the risk of contracting COVID-19.

The safety protocols for Phase 3 include the Gold Standard Program with enhanced safety guidelines approved by the Belize Tourism Board. The program regulates health and safety standards at hotels, restaurants, and for tour guides during your stay. An additional requirement is the download of the Belize Health App.

Gold Standard Hotels

As of today four accommodations in Caye Caulker have been added to the Gold Standard Hotel list. A total of 57 hotels have been approved in Belize.

Belize Health App

The Belize Health App is required to enter Belize and will be available for download on Google Play and in the App Store.  You can download the App at any time prior to your trip to Belize, but should enter your personal information within 72 hours of your arrival in Belize.
