Everybody has at least one nickname here in Belize. So do our Cayes. Just like our big sister Ambergris Caye is called “La Isla Bonita” (yes, that’s what Madonna sang about back in the 80ies!), we are known as “La Isla Carinosa”.
We might not have Madonna writing a song about us, but we have great musicians on the island! That’s another reason why to visit Caye Caulker Belize!
We have Andrew Kingston, a super-talented guitar-player and song-writer. We have Gregory Michael, who has an endless repertoire on songs. You name it – he plays it. When you visit us in Caye Caulker go to one of his events and ask him to play his version of Gringo In Belize for you!

It’s a small island and you can easily get around by walking. It’s highly unlikely that you will get lost – we only have three main streets. Front Street, Middle Street, and – you guessed it – Back Street. As you get closer to The Split, the island is so narrow that there’s only Front Street left and you can see the Caribbean Sea on both sides.
No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem! Our streets are sandy and you can go everywhere without shoes. Even though we have a very relaxed dress code, topless suntanning is not allowed – sorry, ladies!
