Belikin is not only The Beer of Belize. For the longest time it was the only beer of Belize. We’ve seen a couple of microbreweries popping up, but the Bowen and Bowen Brewery (B&B) in Belize City “own” the beer market.

According to B&B, “The origin of the name “Belikin” dates back to the ancient Maya Classical Period and means “road to the east”. This could also be referring to the eastward expansion of the Mayas toward Belize. It is believed to be what the native Mayas called Belize and connects Belikin with our Belizean heritage.”

Visit Belikin’s website for more on their STORY

Belikin offers a few different kinds of beer including Belikin Beer, Belikin Light, Belikin Stout and the seasonal brews such as Belikin Sorrel Stout, Belikin Chocolate Stout, and Belikin Black & Tan.

B&B also offers a few partner brews, such as Landshark Lager, Heineken, Guiness, Red Stripe and Amstel Bright.
