Caye Caulker, Belize Travel - Visitors Now Allowed To Move Freely Around The Island
Prime Minister Rt. Dean Barrow announced yesterday during a virtual press conference that Belize will lift the travel restrictions starting Monday, October 19, so visitors will be allowed to move freely around the island to explore Caye Caulker.
Even though the land borders will remain closed for now, the Government of Belize changed the restrictions of the “Safe Corridor” to recommendations.
Visitors movement will no longer be restricted and you won’t be confined to your Gold Standard accommodations!
Changes For Tourists & Short-Term Visitors
Tourism Gold Standard Accommodations
We haven’t seen the changed requirements in writing, yet, but our understanding is that you still have to book your stay with a Gold Standard certified hotel. However, staying at accommodations that are Gold Standard certified is in your best interest, as these hotels implemented certain processes and procedures to prevent spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic. More and more properties are getting certified every day. Find the list of all Gold Standard properties HERE!
