COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY EVENT!\n*We will publish the program detailing the times of the different Caye Caulker Lobster Fest events as soon as it becomes available.\nAbout the Caye Caulker Lobster Fest\nCaye Caulker Lobster Fest started on July 1994 by the Islanders Veterans Football Club. Caye Caulker Lobster Fest is the original Lobster Fest of Belize, and is the only festival on Caye Caulker.\n\nAt the time team members of the football team would get together on weekends to socialize and the idea of celebrating the opening of the lobster season by having a festival was suggested. The team consisted of local fishermen under the captain ship of Mr. Porfilio Guzman and Vice Captain Mr. Jerry Badillo Jr. who are both fishermen. They supported the idea and the first festival was held in July 1994. July was the opening of the lobster season. After the season was changed from July to June hence was the change of the festival dates to every ending of June.\n\n\nEver since the Lobster Festival was celebrated every year and each year became bigger and better organized.\n\n\nThe festival became the biggest event celebrated on the Island and attracts all Belizeans and tourists visiting the island.\n\n\nToday under new management, Caye Caulker Lobster Fest is still the number one event celebrated on Caye Caulker and has attracted international attention from many countries. In addition the event continues to develop in many aspects the betterment of our beautiful island Caye Caulker.\n\n\nOur priority is investing 50% of the festival’s income back into the community. The past years we have been supporting the Caye Caulker Roman Catholic School with necessary aid to ensure the comfort of all students and teacher. We also have a scholarship program that we offer to the winner of Miss Lobster Fest and the 1st Runner Up in their continuation of their educational or vocational studies.\n\n\nThe Festival starts on a Friday with the crowing of Miss Lobster Fest and last until the Sunday with all day beach party and the closing of the festival. Highlights and things to look forward each and every year is our Grand Opening Ceremonies held on the Saturday, live displays of live Lobsters, weighing in of the biggest Lobster for the weekend brought in by our local fishermen, our main dance event hosted on the Saturday Night and of course all sorts of delicious and mouth watering Lobster dishes.
